Train life

Last night, we caught the train to Seattle. We catch the train at Union Depot at about 10:30 at night.  It was a little late getting in. The kids were impatient to get on the train. We have two roomettes across from each other. Pretty cool.

Nick stayed with Dad and Kayla stayed with me. We roamed around but there wasn’t a lot to do and we were tired so we settled down around 11:30 or midnight. The roomettes were set up for bedtime already. Kayla wanted me to stay on the lower bunk with her, which were very tight quarters.  I tried top bunk which would be fine. I could sit up or turn around well; however, if you back in the way you came out, you’re good.

It’s now Saturday, midday. It’s like we are in our own tiny ecosystem.the roomettes are smaller than our couch. We stopped at Minot where we learned that staff had been approaching their 8 hour limit for working and we were delayed approximately 2 hours. Dad was so bummed about that. The good news was that we were able to get out and stretch our legs.  The Minot train station is neat.

A couple of pictures so far.
